Marketing Communication Manager

Position Description:

As part of the global marketing communications department, the marcom manager is responsible for all design, related functions, and vendors associated with the creation, review, production and archiving of traditional and digital marketing communications materials for all of the VPG marketing teams. The services are accomplished by collaborating with marketing and other functional partners to define, develop and deliver strategic and creative, integrated marketing communications plans and materials in a timely manner, within budget, using print and digital solutions across a multitude of brand touchpoints to achieve and support marketing objectives. S/he ensures internal and external parties are trained according to company standards, and adhere to the VPG Corporate Brand Standards. S/he ensures that each business unit’s power or legacy brands’ strategies are consistently executed, based on sound knowledge of branding, graphic design methods and techniques, including printing procedures, interaction of copy and visual elements, user experience/user interface design, photography, videography and illustration. This position manages/oversees at least one direct report.

Act as the marcom subject matter expert to develop and produce marketing communication solutions that meet business objectives. Manage, negotiate and communicate budget and deadlines requirements/changes. Create and execute a variety of print, web, multimedia, and graphic design projects as assigned, including but not limited to catalogs, brochures, flyers, posters, self-mailers, logo design, annual reports, email blasts, trade show graphics, advertising, images, web banners and web sites. Produce and prepare electronic files to company standards, in a timely and cost efficient manner. Prepare final electronic files for print reproduction, the web, and other media, per company standards and specifications.

Work with the creative and/or production team (internal and external) to ensure projects are completed according to company standards in a timely and cost-effective manner. Select vendor if work will be outsourced, and manage budget and deadline.

Work with department to continuously improve current processes and drive efficiencies and/or cost reduction.


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience.

Minimum 10 years of graphic design production and management experience with a marketing communications department or agency.

Proficient in creating traditional and digital templates and design solutions per specifications, using appropriate software; excellent proficiency in design, especially with Adobe Creative Cloud software; basic understanding of web and multimedia software and applications.

In-depth knowledge of interactions between branding, design architecture, content, visual design, aesthetics, navigation and user experience.

Expert understanding of print standards and production.

Basic understanding of how to work with HTML templates; understanding of digital asset management systems and web site architecture a plus.

Strategic level of understanding in developing and executing social media campaigns within current guidelines.

High level knowledge of video editing and setting up photography shoots.
